Inflatable Bounce House Rental Checklist: 9 Questions to Ask Before You Book (Lexington, KY)
Booking an inflatable bounce house rental should feel exciting, not stressful. But if youβve never rented one before, itβs hard to know what actually matters and whatβs just noise. Most parents, schools, and churches arenβt trying to become inflatable experts. You just want the event to go well. You want kids to have fun. And you donβt want surprises on party day.
Iβm Ricky with Backyard Responders.
We provide inflatable bounce house rentals across Central Kentucky every week for families, schools, churches,
and local organizations.
This checklist is based on what we see work β and what causes problems when corners are cut. If you want to see what we offer, you can start here: Inflatable Bounce House Rentals Quick video overview

1) Is the inflatable bounce house rental company insured?
This question protects you more than almost any other. If someone gets hurt or something is damaged and the company isnβt insured, the problem often lands on the homeowner or organization hosting the event. At Backyard Responders, we carry proper insurance because itβs part of running a professional operation. We work with families, schools, churches, and community groups, and they all deserve to know theyβre protected. Insurance doesnβt replace good setup and training. It backs them up. Thatβs how it should work.
2) How is the inflatable bounce house anchored?
Anchoring is one of the biggest safety factors, and itβs also one of the most misunderstood. Kids donβt bounce evenly. They run, pile into corners, and move fast. We anchor every inflatable bounce house rental every time. No shortcuts. We use the correct anchor points and adjust based on the surface. That consistency is what keeps the inflatable stable throughout the day. Parents shouldnβt have to wonder if something feels βsecure enough.β It should just feel solid.3) What is your wind and weather policy?
Weather decisions are uncomfortable, but avoiding them creates bigger problems later. Clear policies protect families and organizations. We monitor weather and communicate early. If conditions arenβt safe, we talk through options and make decisions with safety first. Thatβs especially important for schools, churches, and public events where more people are involved. If you ever want to understand how weather decisions work, we explain it clearly on our FAQs page .4) How is the inflatable bounce house cleaned between rentals?
Kids are kids. They sweat, spill drinks, and touch everything. Thatβs normal. Thatβs why every inflatable bounce house rental we deliver is cleaned after every event. Entrances, floors, slides, and high-touch areas are all addressed before the next setup.
Clean equipment helps kids stay comfortable and helps parents feel confident.
Itβs a small thing that makes a big difference.5) Is the inflatable inspected regularly?
Inflatables go through real wear. Cords, seams, and components donβt last forever. Thatβs why inspections matter. We inspect our equipment and remove anything from service that doesnβt meet our standards. Sometimes that means replacing items earlier than expected. Weβd rather do that than risk a problem at someoneβs event.
6) What is included with delivery and setup?
Delivery should feel hands-off. You shouldnβt be figuring out placement, anchoring, or power. We handle delivery, setup, anchoring, testing, and takedown. Thatβs especially helpful for busy parents and for organizations that already have a lot to manage on event day.7) What power is required and how close does it need to be?
Inflatables need reliable power. Shared outlets or long runs can cause shutdowns. Our requirement is simple. The power source needs to be within 75 feet. That clarity helps events run smoothly and avoids frustration once kids are already playing.8) How is the inflatable set up for supervision?
Good supervision starts with good placement. If adults can see entrances and exits clearly, problems are easier to prevent.
We set up inflatables so parents, volunteers, and staff donβt have to guess.
This matters at birthday parties and even more at school and church events where supervision is shared.9) What happens at pickup?
Pickup should be simple. You shouldnβt be deflating or moving equipment after a long day.
We handle takedown and removal so your event ends cleanly.
Thatβs one less thing for families and organizations to worry about.
